At Women Equity International (WEI), we believe that true progress begins with equity. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women through research, education, and innovation, ensuring they have the opportunities and resources necessary to thrive.

How we work

Through data-driven research and localized solutions, we work to bridge the gender gap by equipping women with access to education and facilitating opportunities for innovative economic and leadership development. Our approach is encapsulated in the RISE framework, which guides every initiative we undertake. We believe that change begins with understanding and creativity, anchored by a steadfast commitment to fairness and long-term impact. By focusing on Research, Innovation, Sustainability, and Equity, we not only address the immediate challenges faced by women in Nepal but also pave the way for lasting transformation in communities. These pillars provide a clear roadmap for empowering women, breaking down systemic barriers, and creating opportunities that endure for generations.

R — Research

We commit to rigorous, evidence-based research to uncover and understand the unique gender disparities within communities across Nepal. This foundation of data-driven insight not only informs our strategies but also ensures that every initiative is precisely targeted to create meaningful, measurable change.

I — Innovation

Innovation is at the heart of our approach. By embracing creative problem-solving and challenging conventional methods, we develop transformative solutions that dismantle systemic barriers. Our innovative initiatives empower women to lead change and drive progress in every community we serve.

S — Sustainability

Sustainability is critical to ensuring that our impact endures. We design and implement long-term initiatives that build resilience and foster continuous growth within communities. By prioritizing sustainable practices, we help secure a future where gender equity is maintained and continuously nurtured.

E — Equity

Equity is the commitment the other three serve. Research, innovation and sustainability matter only if they end with every woman holding an equal claim on resources, opportunity, and a say in her own community. We measure our work against that standard, not against how much of it we delivered.
